Cookie Jar Entertainment has added a multi-player online game to its www.spiderriders.com site, looking to boost the appeal of its popular action cartoon. The game, Spider Riders: Battle for Arachna, lets players chat and compete against each other in real time, and comes from the in-house team at Cookie, the marketing outfit Tribal Nova in Montreal, and Frima Studios in Quebec City.

‘By launching our new multi-player Spider Riders game, we are able to enhance the online experience for gamers as well as introduce them to other fans of the game and the show,’ said Ken Locker, Cookie’s SVP of digital media, in a statement.

The Spider Riders site launched last year and has drawn more than 1.3 million gamers, according to Cookie Jar. The series, aimed at preteen boys, airs on Kids’ WB in the U.S., TV Tokyo and Teletoon.
